On Friday, right after our last class; Jiun, Boey and I went to Midvalley to get some shopping done. That was around 3-something in the afternoon and the traffic was smooth flowing. Anyways, we window-shopped, tried on clothes, fooled around, had dinner and basically just hung around there until 9-something before heading on home. All was well until we reached the little slope near where we stay. Jiun's car started sputtering and heaving... We got a little freaked and Jiun thought it was because the car wasn't powerful enough to tackle the little slope. But that couldn't be the problem because we've been past the slope so many times already. Anyways, Jiun stepped on the pedal and we got past the slope... As we pulled into a parking space in the vicinity of the apartment, the car gave a final sputter before it totally died off!! Her car is of automatic transmission is it wasn't supposed to do that!
What's worse is that we suddenly smelt smoke and this time, we totally freaked out! We jumped out of the car as fast as we could and Jiun popped the hood. There were smoke coming out from under the hood and even from the lights on the car interior!! 3 clueless girls and one smoking car... Doesn't exactly spell "genius" here... Anyways, we were lucky that we were back home already so we got Chin Aun to come down from the house and opened the hood (we didn't dare to open it all the way for fear of it exploding in our faces! *wink*). After a couple of mins, he checked the water level and it was totally EMPTY! He told us that there was nothing else for us to do but to wait until the next day to get it fixed and asked why none of us took notice of the temperature indicator... Hmmm... I guess it never occurred to us to look there *sheepish look*
We got it fixed the next day and took it out for a joyride (on the way to dinner at ioi mall) and whaddaya know... the car started heating up again! The darned mechanic made the leak in the radiator even worse!! *curse* We had to stop at a bus stop and wait until the car cooled down before driving it (at an immensely slow speed on the Federal Highway) back home. We continued our joyride in Chin Aun's car anyway!! Hehe...
This morning, when Chin Aun and I went for breakfast, we noticed that the side mirror of his car is missing!!! I cannot believe that someone actually removed the side mirror!!! Chin Aun was just saying that in so many years that the car was in Penang, nothing like this ever happened before and the car has been in KL for less than 3 months *sigh* We were worried that we wouldn't be able to find a place to get it fixed cos nothing seems to be open in KL on Sundays. But luckily, someone came to our rescue and taught us how to go to a car accessory shop on Old Klang Road and we managed to get it done *yay* for under RM20, no less!! Hehe... Thank you!!!
